Andrew Leverich

Technical Level Designer

A Lil’ Forager’s Shop is a casual exploration game where the player forages, trades with NPCs, and fills out an encyclopedia to eventually escape a small island. My role focused on level design, creating the island’s layout, region breakdowns, and progression through environmental gating such as bridges and paths.

High Fidelity

In the high-fidelity phase, I took a hands-on role by playtesting the level, fixing collision issues, ensuring correct asset placement, and verifying that all game objectives and embedded systems were functioning properly.

Block Outs

During this phase, my role shifted to creating low-poly environmental assets to communicate layout, scale, and production needs to our artists. While the other level designer focused on the overall landscape, I created and placed assets such as bridges, caves, and trees, using them to test navigation, sightlines, and player flow.

Supporting Material

During this stage of development, my role was to design the overall map and layout for the game. I created the island to support clear progression while encouraging player exploration, guiding players naturally through key areas and rewarding curiosity.
